About ‘Tis
Featuring two galleries of contemporary art inside the beautifully restored 1893 ‘Tis Building
Unlike conventional art galleries, the non-profit ‘Tis galleries feature affordable fine art paintings, photography, and sculpture, all displayed in museum-style fashion. A charming parlor area with a historical settee awaits visitors near the rear of the main floor gallery. Within it, you will find some of the state’s most unique and locally handcrafted jewelry and wearable art.
The Tis Foundation and Gallery were established to promote Local Artists, encourage Artists and various styles of art, teach art, and make art economically available to the Prescott Community.

BRICOLEUR:
Creating meaning through resourceful improvisation
Featuring the work of John Hall
My art is “the creativity of a postmodern ‘Bricoleur‘ — the creativity, that is, of someone who works with an always potentially disordered heap of already existing materials, pulling them apart and putting them back together again, tinkering with their shapes, twisting them this way and that. It is a creativity expressed through the modification and extension of materials already on the ground.” From Kathryn Tanner, Theories of Culture: A New Agenda for Theology.
