Silver Textured Earrings
This class is great for beginners! Students receive four hours of hands-on experience with silver metal clay. You will learn about the history and composition of metal clay. You will learn about how to use basic tools for working with metal clay. Techniques on how to create a pair of silver textured earrings will be demonstrated and students will then roll the clay to the desired thickness, imprint textures, cut the clay with templates, dry the clay, and refine it for torch firing.
After firing your pieces, you will learn how to achieve a bright, lustrous finish with the silver. Finally, we add patina to enhance detail in your earrings. Barbara will be happy to add the silver ear wire and a bead if you like! Class is limited to 8 students.
What’s included?
All instruction, materials, tools, supplies, and 15 gr of silver clay are provided. You will leave the class with a printed list of resources for getting started with metal clay at home. Best of all, you will be the proud owner of beautiful, one-of-a-kind silver jewelry that YOU made!
Cost: Registration is $135.
