Osiyo, Catherine Huston, AKA as (Kay Huston) 11-11-1944 I am a fossil,Smile
retired US Army Veteran. From Easter Band of the Cherokee  Nation, Graham
County.Graduated from GCC, AZ with a AGS degree, have continued   taking class’s at Yavapai.

I haven’t been back to the rezz(Qualla boundary) for over ten yr)as a
child I wound spend my summers on the rezzzz with my grandmother where she
taught me to bead. Oh How I loved running my hands thru her baskets, pottery
& glass Jars full of gazzzillian beads, the multi colors were pleasing to the
eye.

It begain at age 5, helping with threading the needle for my NaNa. When I
wasen’t beading I was trout fishing with Papa.

NaNa’s first priority was to teach me to say a little prayer before/while
beading, still I continue this practice, my therapy, good medicine.
My work has won numerous blue ribbons at the Veterans creative Art Show and
two times I took the honor of National winner.
