About ‘Tis

Featuring two galleries of contemporary art inside the beautifully restored 1893 ‘Tis Building

Unlike conventional art galleries, the non-profit ‘Tis galleries feature affordable fine art paintings, photography, and sculpture, all displayed in museum-style fashion. A charming parlor area with a historical settee awaits visitors near the rear of the main floor gallery. Within it, you will find some of the state’s most unique and locally handcrafted jewelry and wearable art.

The Tis Foundation and Gallery were established to promote Local Artists, encourage Artists and various styles of art, teach art, and make art economically available to the Prescott Community.

Threads, Timber and Tones

November 14, 2025 - January 13, 2026

Threads, Timber, and Tones: Honoring the Past, Present, and Future Through Fabric, Wood, and Paint brings together four distinct artists—Linda Scott, Sherri Curtis, Mary Kaye O’Neill, and Dennis Peterson—who each explore the beauty of materials and the stories they hold.

Sherri Curtis reimagines silk, leather, and wool into wearable art that honors the richness of past fabrics. Linda Scott delves into the symbolic and archetypal, creating prints and accessories inspired by global traditions and the images that connect us across cultures. Painter and designer Mary Kaye O’Neill infuses her hand-painted silks and wall art with color, texture, and rhythm—each piece a poetic conversation between the natural world and her creative spirit. Completing the collection, Dennis Peterson, a master woodworker and Yavapai College instructor, crafts furniture and fine boxes that blend precision with the organic beauty of exotic woods.

Together, these artists invite viewers to experience the tactile and timeless dialogue between threads, timber, and tones—a reflection of artistry that bridges memory, material, and meaning.
