'Tis Building in Historic Downtown Prescott, Arizona

‘Tis established its art center and gallery  in June 2009  for the promotion of local artists and various styles of art, to teach art and to make art economically available to the Prescott Community.

The center’s two galleries feature a rotating selection of fine art paintings, photography, sculpture, jewelry and wearable art, all by Prescott area artists. The third floor banquet hall, with its spectacular view of the courthouse plaza is ideal for wedding receptions and other black-tie affairs. It is also available for educational meetings, fundraisers, artist workshops, theater and dance performances.

The ‘Tis Annex Building which is around the corner was acquired in October of 2013. It is the home of the STEPS Art School for Young Artists which provides FREE art education to children ages 5 – 18. The ‘Tis Annex also provides classroom work space for artist workshops. A ceramic workroom is in the works as part of an extensive remodel which is scheduled to be completed by April of 2016. The name ‘Tis is derived from the traditional Irish expression, ” ’tis ” which is short for “it is.”

“That’s your dream out now. That’s what my mother used to say when we were children in Ireland and a dream we had came true.” Frank McCourt, New York Times bestselling author in his memoir ‘Tis.
